Student life can be financially tough at times, especially if you’re not very good at budgeting. But if you have a passion for design and are quite food at it, then you have every chance of making some money online.
If you have found this post looking for some ‘get money for nothing’ scheme or a ‘make me a millionaire over-night’ scam, then look elsewhere. This involves real work and utilizing real skills, but the end product can loosen the financial belt quite a bit.
Thousands of websites are being created every day, in an effort to look unique and stand out from the crowd, web masters enlist the help of designers to create unique web layouts, professional logos and captivating graphics. This is where you could come in, especially if your pretty handy with software such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or Gimp. You can either seek out clients and offer your services, the client will then give you a list of requirements for you to work with. Alternatively you can create the designs yourself and sell them to stock photo websites or forums, there are so many possibilities.
Remember to only do what you can, you don’t want to neglect your college or University work just to make a few extra quid on the side. Most people can manage with a couple of hours every day and earn a decent amount of money in the process.
So to recap, you will need good design skills, good communication skills to seek out those clients and win projects, some free time and self-motivation to meet deadlines and of course the sites where you can win clients etc. (see below).
I am in the process of creating a large list of resources and links for you to use and get going with this, so stay tuned for that exciting post. On other topics, posts exploring the issues of ISA savings accounts and food shopping are imminent.
