Make Money by Buying Online then Selling Offline

Make Money

If you have some spare cash and are interested in making some extra money then this post is for you, I’ll admit it wont make you rich, but will help if done correctly.

I was browsing the local classified ads paper today and realized how overpriced some items are compared to how much you can purchase them for online on sites such as eBay.  For example, someone is selling a used Xbox 360 console with two games and a 20gb hard drive for £250.  So for the purpose of this blog I rang them up and made an enquiry, they informed me that the item was so sold, therefore it proves that people are buying these things at these prices.  If you take a quick look on eBay and make a search for similar items, you will realize that they are selling for much much less, in fact I bough my Xbox 360 off eBay around 6 months ago with 9 games and a 20gb hard drive for £190.

It’s not just with games consoles, mobile phones, computers, laptops and even televisions are being sold on local classifieds for a good price.  So here’s an idea for you to make some extra cash over the weekend, purchase an item from sites such as eBay, then instantly list them on your local classifieds paper for a profit.  If you are worried about the risk, try with something lower in value.

To find bargains on eBay, it is important to fully take advantage of the advanced search feature.  Searches such as ‘Buy it Now’ with ‘Lowest Priced First’ will instantly show you some bargains.  I’ve had some success in the past by searching for ‘Buy it Now’ listings and sort them by ‘Newly Listed’, many people do this so usually the best deals go straight away, but it is possible to get lucky.  You can also of course bid for those last minute bargains.

As I said at the start of this post, it won’t make you rich, but if you do a good deal it will certainly help with your savings or finances in general.  Right, over to you…….please share your thoughts or personal experiences on this kind of matter, also feel free to suggest more methods.

I’m currently working on a few handy mini-guides which will be published over the next week or so which will touch on the subjects of student bank accounts, saving money on transport and how to effectively utilize your 0% overdraft facility, so stay tuned for those.
